Today, a successful Relationship Manager or Senior Personal Banker in a consumer bank is required to master a diverse range of skills due to the huge variety of banking products available, besides being able to cater to the ever-demanding needs of clients.
They need to be at the top of their game, especially in a fast-changing economic and political climate, to successfully manage their clients’ investment portfolio while faced with the ever-challenging market and business environment.
This course will touch on the skills needed to be an effective senior banker in sales and be equipped with the required in-depth knowledge of unit trusts as a financial tool to help grow clients’ wealth and AUM.
This course will also cover the role and advantages of RegTech in combating money laundering in the financial system.
Learning Outcome
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Review current sales approach and techniques to improve client’s acceptance of investment products;
- Apply various elements of different sales approaches in promoting investment products to grow client’s AUM;
- Conduct market analysis of various unit trust funds to recommend the appropriate funds to suit the client’s risk profile and needs; and
- Evaluate appropriate values and strategies for self-improvement to gain the client’s trust in various market trends to be the preferred financial advisor.

James Chin Chee Keong
James Chin is an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer who specialises in investment and the global economy, with more than 2 decades of experience in the financial industry. He was formerly a Director at CIMB Private Banking and CIMB Principal Asset Management and was previously a licensed Capital Market Services Representative (CMSR) holder for fund management from the Securities Commission of Malaysia. He currently conducts training for banks and MNCs on investments, financial planning and leadership.
James obtained his Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration from Wawasan Open University and is also an Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) graduate. He lectured part-time at Wawasan Open University on Leadership, Marketing and Organisational Management courses.
