Avril Tan
Avril is an experienced CFP CERT TM practitioner with 26 years in the financial industry, specializing in money management, unit trusts, and investment planning. Currently, she serves as a Group Agency Manager with a leading unit trust investment company in Malaysia, where she leads a team of around 100 consultants.
Avril holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Islamic Financial Planner (IFP), and Certified Behavioral Consultant certifications. She earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting & Finance from Flinders University of South Australia. She’s currently pursuing the Certified Financial Coaching certification.
A regular trainer and speaker on company platform, Avril is also a CFP CERT TM certification trainer and has covered topics such as stock investments, insurance planning, property investments and soft skills such as mindset power, limiting beliefs and behavioural styles. Her commitment to excellence in training has earned her one of the Top Agency Speakers award from her company in 2022. Recently she was honoured to be given the recognition of British Publishing House’s ‘Successful People in Malaysia’ award in May 2022.
As a passionate advocate for financial empowerment, Avril is dedicated to helping her clients achieve financial independence and make informed financial decisions. She is also known for her contributions to financial articles in Smart Investor magazine. Avril is actively involved in the financial planning community, serving as the Deputy Chairman for the Johor chapter of the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM).

1. How long will each physical program take?
Each physical program is the equivalent of a day’s CE Workshop training for approximately 8 hours with the morning & afternoon coffee break and lunch in between. The duration of the program excluding the break is 6 hours.
2. Can I attend only half the sessions of the training?
You will need to sit in for the session throughout the day unless you have a valid reason or a copy of proof.
