Shaping habits that last a lifetime is core to building a financially literate generation. Today, Maybank serves nearly one in four youths nationwide, delivering its mission through dedicated educational initiatives.
Through the YouthFUNancial initiative, the bank sparks curiosity with interactive content on saving, budgeting, and investing. Over 11,000 students have joined financial literacy workshops and scam awareness challenges, gaining practical skills that are fun, memorable, and impactful.
Meanwhile, Cashville Kidz has instilled healthy financial habits in more than 373,000 students across eight ASEAN countries through engaging animations, worksheets, and teacher kits, with pre- and post-assessments ensuring educational content is effective and accessible.
Since 2022, Maybank has reinforced its commitment through a Financial Literacy Module for scholarship recipients. This has equipped over 180 Maybank scholars with essential knowledge on budgeting, responsible spending, and savings management, reflecting the bank’s holistic approach to nurturing financially disciplined, future-ready leaders.
Maybank’s Training & Learning Center initiative has reached 177 underprivileged youth and orphans since 2023. Beyond skills training in mobile phone and air conditioner repairs, participants gain financial and business management skills to enhance income generation capabilities, building a sustainable safety net for those most at risk of being financially displaced.
Innovation for Everyday Financial Wellness
Maybank’s commitment to digital distinction is central to its M25+ strategic aspiration. The bank transforms complex financial planning into actionable strategies through intuitive tools. The Financial Goals Simulator helps users visualise life goals, while the Goal-Based Investment platform guides individuals on tailored journeys to their ambitions.
These platforms are supported by a library of bite-sized financial articles, democratising sophisticated financial knowledge for effortless application, whether planning for education funding, wealth building or retirement.
Empowering Women and Communities
Maybank drives targeted initiatives, recognising that empowering women through economic opportunities is vital to building a more inclusive and resilient community.
Through Ibupreneur and iTEKAD Aspirasi Wanita, Maybank empowers women—especially single mothers and micropreneurs—with digital training and literacy, helping them build confidence, resilience, and sustainable income. The bank also launched a first-in-the-region collaboration with TikTok Shop, helping women entrepreneurs master digital marketing and e-commerce.
Since 2016, Maybank’s Women Eco-Weavers have reached over 4,000 weavers and farmers across ASEAN, merging cultural tradition with economic empowerment and fostering long-term financial independence.
Maybank’s Reach Independence & Sustainable Entrepreneurship (R.I.S.E) programme is an economic empowerment initiative for disadvantaged communities. Since 2014, more than 41,000 micro-entrepreneurs have been trained, over 32,000 of whom are persons with disabilities.
Maybank also extends care through mobile health trucks, cancer screenings, and protection schemes like i-Care OKU and i-Lindung for low-income groups, providing essential security for those who need it most.
Partnerships with Real Impact
Through strategic collaborations with programmes such as MARK, Maybank has been promoting numeracy skills among 1,300 rural Malaysian students across 123 schools since 2022. Since 2018, the bank has partnered with the ASEAN Foundation in its eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN programme, honing leadership skills of youth volunteers to advocate for solutions that empower marginalised communities.

It has implemented a living wage framework, ensuring employees earn sustainable income, while promoting financial literacy through education on insurance, retirement, and financial management. Acts of Kindness that Scale
Employee volunteerism is a defining part of Maybank’s culture. Through the flagship initiative Cahaya Kasih, Maybankers dedicated almost 120,000 volunteer hours in 2024. During Maybank Group Global CR Day 2024, nearly 19,000 employees carried out 93 projects, touching over 22,000 lives.
The bank also introduced a Zakat Auto Debit service for Muslim customers, integrating fintech with social responsibility and streamlining charitable giving.
